This program is designed for students who are planning to build their futures in the accommodation industry. In 2010, the accomodation, food and beverage sectors employed 1,086,000 people and generated revenues of almost $18.8-billion.

Hotel & Resort program admits students at three points during the year (September, January and May), allowing you to complete the two-year program in 16 months. Courses cover a full range of business practices in marketing, human resources, hospitality accounting and industry operations as applied to the accommodation, food and beverages industries.

You will gain valuable work experience through an individualized industry placement, designed to provide a practical foundation for your career. After graduation, many students continue on as full-time employees at their placements.

The Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council (CTHRC) anticipates that the food and beverage services sector will grow to employ 1.95-million people by 2015. The CTHRC has also reported that 68 per cent of employees within this sector are young Canadians.

This two-year Restaurant and Catering diploma program will prepare you for a challenging and satisfying career in restaurant operations management. You will learn skills that are essential to this segment of the industry, including menu management and design, kitchen management, beverage knowledge and bartending.

In addition, you will also spend two days per week in a placement at a restaurant or a hotel. This placement will give you the practical experience to complement the theory learned in class.

The Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council (CTHRC) anticipates that the food and beverage services sector will grow to employ 1.95-million people by 2015. The CTHRC has also reported that, presently, 68 per cent of employees within this sector are young Canadians.

This one to two year Kitchen Management Certificate or Diploma program will prepare you for a challenging and rewarding career in food operations management. As a student of this unique program, you will learn a range of skill sets including hands-on experience in our on-campus, student training restaurant called Horizons. You will also master business practices in accounting, human resources and supervision. The field placement component will allow you to apply theory to practice and even transition to a successful job.
