The United Kingdom, made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, is an island nation in northwestern Europe.
England
England is a country that is part of the United Kingdom. It shares land borders with Wales to its west and Scotland to its north. The Irish Sea lies northwest of England and the Celtic Sea to the southwest. England is separated from continental Europe by the North Sea to the east and the English Channel to the south.
Located to the north-west of mainland Europe, its inhabitants account for more than 82 percent of the total population of the United Kingdom.
The capital city of England is London, which is the largest city in Great Britain, and the largest city in the European Union by most measures. The Greater London Urban Area has a population of 8,278,251. The ancient City of London still retains its tiny medieval boundaries; but the name "London" has long applied more generally to the whole metropolis which has grown up around it. An important settlement for around two millennia, London is today one of the world's leading business, financial and cultural centers, and its influence in politics, education, entertainment, media, fashion, and the arts all contribute to its status as one of the major global cities.
Birmingham is the second largest, both in terms of the city itself and its urban conurbation. A number of other cities, mainly in central and northern England, are of substantial size and influence. Scotland
Scotland is a country that is part of the United Kingdom. Wales is a country in southwest Great Britain known for its rugged coastline, mountainous national parks, distinctive Welsh language and Celtic culture. Cardiff, the capital, is a refined coastal city with a nightlife scene and a medieval castle with ornate Gothic Revival interiors. In the northwest, Snowdonia National Park has lakes, glacial landforms, hiking trails and a railway up to the peak of Snowdon.
Northern Island
Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom that is variously described as a country, province or region. Located in the northeast of the island of Ireland, Northern Ireland shares a border to the south and west with the Republic of Ireland.
The economy of the United Kingdom is a highly developed social market and market-oriented economy. It is the sixth-largest national economy in the world measured by nominal gross domestic product (GDP), eighth-largest by purchasing power parity(PPP), and twenty fifth-highest by GDP per capita, constituting 3.3% of nominal world GDP. By PPP(purchasing power parity) terms the UK constitutes 2.34% of world gdp.
The United Kingdom is one of the most globalized economies, and comprises England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. In 2020, the UK was the fifth largest exporter in the world and the fifth-largest importer. It also had the third-largest inward foreign direct investment, and the fifth-largest outward foreign direct investment. The service sector dominates, contributing 81% of GDP; the financial services industry is particularly important, and London is the second-largest financial center in the world. Edinburgh was ranked 17th in the world, and 6th in Europe for its financial services industry in 2021. The UK technology sector is valued at US$1 trillion, third behind the United States and China. Britain's aerospace industry is the second-largest national aerospace industry. Its pharmaceutical industry, the tenth-largest in the world, plays an important role in the economy. Of the world's 500 largest companies, 26 are headquartered in the UK. The economy is boosted by North Sea oil and gas production; its reserves were estimated at 2.8 billion barrels in 2016, although it has been a net importer of oil since 2005. There are significant regional variations in prosperity, with South East England and North East Scotland being the richest areas per capita. The size of London's economy makes it the largest city by GDP per capita in Europe.
Government involvement is primarily exercised by His Majesty's Treasury, headed by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. Since 1979, management of the economy has followed a broadly laissez-faire approach. The Bank of England is the UK's central bank, and since 1997 its Monetary Policy Committee has been responsible for setting interest rates, quantitative easing, and forward guidance.
The currency of the UK is the pound sterling, which is the world's fourth-largest reserve currency after the United States dollar, the Euro and the Japanese yen. It is also one of the 10 most-valued currencies in the world.

Once the application has been forwarded to the university, it will take 14 business working days to receive the offer letter.
If the student receives an offer letter on a conditional basis, the conditions should be fulfilled before the respective deadlines.
