Train to be an integral member of oral health care teams in private practices, public health units, long-term care facilities, mobile dental practices, and industry. You will have tons of opportunities for hands-on practical learning on manikins, your classmates, and clients from Sudbury in the College's on-campus Dental Clinic. You will also be involved in health promotion initiatives that will look impressive on your resume.
For graduates of the new curriculum (OSS): Ontario Secondary School Diploma (30 credits) or equivalent or mature student status, including: Any grade 12 English (C), (U), or (M) Any grade 11 (U) or (C) or grade 12 biology (U) Any grade 11 (U) or grade 12 chemistry (C) or (U) Please note: A minimum of 60% is required in each prerequisite courses Recommended: Computer competency in relevant software Additional Requirements Criminal Record check (Vulnerable Sector Screening) as required for placements. (Please note: a criminal record is a serious impediment for the completion of program requirements. Many employer and placement agencies insist on a clear record.) The following are required prior to the start of classes: Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate, Health Care Provider level or level C with AED Current Standard First Aid Certificate Immunizations: Tetanus, Diphtheria, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Poliomyelitis, Varicella (immunization or history of infection confirmed by MD) Covid 19 full vaccination required Appropriate TB test Flu vaccination (when distributed mid- to late fall) Proof of WHMIS training AODA training Health & Safety Awareness training Respiratory Mask Fitting N95 - 1870 models
